The Bears Lair

5 star Potential but rental property vibe. This property has a great layout and could have accommodated more than was in our party. What holds it back are a series of deferred maintenance issues none of which are deal breakers in themselves selves but add up to less then a 5 star experience. The great room got hot during our stay. The room has a window A/C unit but the temp control knob was missing. Went to open sliding glass door to cool down the room instead but here the screen was knocked out of the door so bugs began to enter. (We were later able to mostly fix this as it was the piping that holds the screen in was pulled out). Went to watch TV and realized it wasn’t working because the power cord was missing. Again there are two other TVs so not huge deal but another minor annoyance your not expecting. There were at least once ceiling light on every floor that was out making it feel dark in the evening.The picnic table featured in the photos on the deck is not there and the outdoor end table is broken and pushed up against side of house off to one side. Bears are active in the area and homeowner does point this out. There are two Bear proof trash cans but only one is functioning so you are asked to place excess trash in the basement. To avoid smelling up your basement sleeping quarters I would separate your trash and put food waste only in outside bear can. Propane for grill is not provided and local store sold out. Nice place but could use some love.

Loved the spacious deck. Had a great time with the family. Outside fire pit was also a fun time.Kids will be talking about it for some time! Made good use of the community center also!
